Since opening our doors in 1996, El Gordo Peruvian Eatery has been on a mission to share the vibrant flavors and warmth of authentic Peruvian cuisine with families and foodies alike. Founded by my mother, a single mom with a dream to create a legacy for her daughters, El Gordo has always been about more than just food—it’s about heritage, resilience, and family. Today, we’re thrilled to announce our newest location in Montclair, where my younger sister Madison will officially join the family business. This moment is a proud testament to my mother’s vision and the strength of our brand: from humble beginnings to a growing chain of Peruvian eateries, each spot rooted in tradition, passion, and a whole lot of heart.
